Here's a video I found online of Chris Kyle talking about his book and the reasons behind why he published the book "American Sniper". Kyle comes off as a humble down to earth man. He loved God, he loved his country, and he loved his family. Most importantly, he loved to protect his brothers on the battlefront. The one thing Kyle missed most about being active duty was the brotherhood. That close bond of knowing that the man next to you is not only family, but he has your back and you have his. Kyle wanted to raise awareness to combat and the truth behind what soldiers really go through.
"I don't care if you've served one year or thirty-five years, you've served your country and you did an honorable job whether you were at piece or at war, you put it out there and you were willing to sign that blank check up to and including your life"-Kyle. Show them thank you in more ways that are helpful than saying "thank you". Show them you're thankful by going out of your way to do something in return for them. Offer to babysit, mow their lawn, etc. Acts of kindness are how we need to start thanking those who serve and protect our country.
Everyday our soilders are overseas fighting for our freedom. Lets ensure they have the best gear, the best equipment, biggest support, care packages and whatever else they need to see another day, and to return home from another deployment. And lets not forget about our veterans and soldiers who are state side and recovering from past deployments.
