2015 Spring Trends

For all you shabby chic women out there, get ready because we're traveling back in time to the 70's this season. On the runway this year we've seen a lot of 70's influences trying to make a comeback. This includes color like you see above such as pale oranges, pale yellow-green, and maroon. Fringe everything is going to be all the rage this season. I went to the women's fair this past weekend and it was fringe everything! We'll also be seeing some gingham patterns. For those of you who have no idea what that means, just think about picnic table cloths like the old school red and white checkered print and you'll know exactly what I mean.

Gingham Print

Luxurious suede was seen on the runway in addition to khaki tones and flare pants. We saw a lot of sheer transparent tops, along with lots of lace. Ruffles and frills (always my fav) will be springs next big thing, in lots of colors and prints.

Here's some trending 2015 Runway inspiration looks...

Christina Aguilera does Cher + Spears impression

(Let Video Load Below)

I think Aguilera's had some practice mimicking people lol...Have you seen the pictures of Aguilera's new baby girl on the cover of People? This is adorable! Congrats to Xtina and her new addition.

Oscars Fashions 2015

These are my 2015 picks for best dressed at the Oscars.

I love how Reece went black and white, classic. I love that Jennifer Anniston finally stepped outside of the box and stopped going for the plunging neckline, much more age appropriate Jen! I love this look on Gwyneth Paltrow. She always does white on the red carpet so I think this was a really pretty change for her.

Does anyone else agree that Jen should stop doing the plunging necklines? You've got a great body for your age, but the girls aren't 21 anymore Jen!

I was not crazy about this look. Pretty dress, but I just can't get over the color. Reminds me of tinker bell or something. A little too Peter Pan for my liking.

Speaking of age appropriate, I was excited to see a softer side of Lopez for a change. We're so used to seeing her wear see-through dresses that I was happy to see her change things up as well. Soft, feminine, but beautiful.

Congrats to all the 2015 Oscar winners.

Secrets To A Long Life?

Apparently this 115 year old Italian woman has the secrets to living a long life figured out. She contributes it to a lifetime of eating raw eggs and being single.

Happy Post-Valentine's Weekend

Hey y'all,

Did you hear the news over the Valentine's Weekend? Gaga said YES. Of course her unique style would reflect in a heart shaped engagement ring. Love it! Did anyone have a romantic weekend like Gaga's?

The Hidden Face Behind "Chandelier"

Who is the face behind "Chandelier" and why is she always facing the wall?!

The Australian singer has become well known for her latest hit "Chandelier" as well as the contemporary performances given by her dancers, Maddie Ziegler and most recently Kristen Wiig at the 2015 Grammy's. Sia's past work included co-writing collaborating "Titanium" with David Guetta, and starring as the vocals on famous tracks like "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)" and "Wild Ones" with rapper Flo-Rida. When questioned in a Nightline interview with Chris Connelly, Sia opened up about why she chooses not to show her face. "I don't want to be famous or recognizable. I don't want to be critiqued about the way I look on the internet. " Sia also explained, "I was in Target the other day buying a hose and nobody recognized me and my song was on the radio. And I thought 'Okay, this experiment is working'.  After being a successful songwriter and writing hits including "Pretty Hurts" by Beyonce and "Diamonds" by Rihanna, Sia sees how fame affects a celebrities life. She doesn't want the fame and the paparazzi's following her every move.

I completely respect Sia and her wishes. How credible to stand up and say look, I want to do what I love for a living, but not at the cost of sacrificing everything I love about my life. Not only does Sia express her wishes in such a powerful way, but she really puts the spotlight on her dancer Maddie Ziegler to own the stage and express a creative message through the contemporary routine. I loved watching Sia bring such a different form of art to the Grammy's this year.

Katy Perry's Grammy Performance

After Obama made a public awareness announcement regarding rape and violence against woman, the lady seen above (Axtell) opened Katy Perry's performance with a powerful message about her personal experience regarding domestic violence.

Perry's handwork this year has not gone unnoticed. After the release of her new album Prism in 2014, the success of her single "Dark Horse", and her grand performance at this year's Super Bowl 47, Perry was nominated for two awards. Since 2009, Perry has been nominated for a total of 13 Grammy's but has yet to take one home. Perry has had such an amazing career thus far. I'm shocked that she's yet to win a Grammy. Everything will happen in God's time. Keep doing what you're doing Katy, we love you!

"Authentic love does not devalue another human being. Authentic love does not silence, shame, or abuse. If you are in a relationship with someone who does not love or honor you, I want you to know that you are loved. Please reach out for help.
You are valuable, beautiful, and loved"

Blake & Ryan

Image via "Preserve"

Is anyone else just dying to get the hands on this baby photo?! After rocking the cutest baby bump ever, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are still staying very hush hush on any details of their new princess. Ryan Reynolds has been doing lots of promotion for his latest comedy "The Voices", but through all the poking and prodding, he's stuck out his guns and has kept those lips sealed tight. The only details he's gone so far to release is the fact that fatherhood's given him a new found appreciation for sleep. Standby!

Luke Bryan's Spring Break Farewell

Have you ever been down to Panama City Beach to see Luke Bryan perform during spring break? Well if you haven't been, this is going to be the last year to see Luke perform one last time before he calls it a wrap.

Catch Luke at his final farewell PCB performances...

Naked 3

Have you ordered the latest Urban Decay palette? This palette will work well with a mixture of either light skin tones or dark skin tones. Being that it's more of a pink inspired color palette, these rosy colors have been known to cause a love it or hate it reaction. I spent some time reading consumer reviews on Urban Decay's site and some people complained about the variations in color not being too noticeably different compared to other past palettes. Most people were quick to admit that this product may not be for everyone. Some complained that for $52 it was cheaply made and fell and broke apart easy. A lot of the people that raved about the product ended up being fair skinned, light eyes. The pro's about the product that they did mention included great for blending and easy to use, but again beware of pigmentations across differernt skin tones.

Fashion @ The Grammy's

Here's some of my favorite looks from The Grammy's tonight.

Nikki Manaj looking hot in a gorgeous black sequin gown. I'm not usually a fan of the deep V' necks but only Manaj could rock it and get away with it.

Jennifer Hudson showing off her beautiful figure in a simple yet elegant look. I love it. Pieces like this are timeless.

Beyonce also sporting a black fit and flare gown tonight. Love the subdued curls that tone down the glamorous look. Beyonce always knows what to wear.

Any thoughts that come to mind? Mermaid with a pop of fuscha. Love this look and color on her. A+.

Love the structure on the top. Fits Gwen's wild personality.

If this a one-piece or two-piece? Either way, I love how it fits her figure. Not sure that I love the color, but I love the top geometric piece.

When Do Eggs Expire?

donnadecunzotaddeo.com
This topic struck me today as I woke up to make eggs for breakfast. We had a carton of new eggs and a carton of old eggs so I used two from the old and one from the new. After eating the cooked new egg, and then attempting to eat the two cooked old eggs, I could definitely tell the difference. So much so that I instantly spit it out because it tasted like rubber. The question than popped into my mind, "When Do Eggs Expire"? I had bought a carton of eggs earlier this month. You know how they say to check your eggs before you purchase them? Well I checked the top for cracks, but I don't think I've ever checked the bottom of the eggs. Lesson learned! When I got them home, the entire carton must of been dropped because every single egg was cracked open on the bottom. That lead me to my second question of the day, "When eggs are cracked open and sit in your refrigerator, are they safe to consume or should you dispose of them at that point"? Eggs are just one of those foods that I never am sure about.

Here's what my research found...

food-hacks.wonderhowto.com

When Do Un-Cracked Eggs Expire? Do the water test and if they float on their side, TOSS THEM.

When eggs are cracked open and sit in your refrigerator, are they safe to consume or should you dispose of them at that point? Check for color and smell. They should be bright orange, not dull orange. If the yolk if flat and the egg white is runny, TOSS THEM. If they smell, than that's a no brainer folks, TOSS THEM. Experts recommend tossing any cracked eggs as a safety precaution to avoid bacteria contamination.

HD Foundation

HD Foundation, have you tried it yet? I've seen this line being carried in Sephora, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to quite make the investment. For $15, I use the Neutrogena foundation from the drug store. You get what you pay for. It has decent coverage, but I would love to try something more top of the line that leaves me with more of a flawless look. Watch here to learn more about the HD Invisible Cover Foundation and how it works.

Make-Up For Forever: Aqua Rogue

Have you been looking for a lipstick that lasts? This lip stick/ lip gloss comes in 18 different shades of color. I walked into Sephora looking for a new lipstick and when I applied this to my lips, I could not get it off. Apply the color to the lips and seal your color with the gloss. It lives up to the title "long-lasting". You should expect this lip product to last up to five hours. From my personal experience, I'm always re-applying my drugstore lipstick and lip gloss almost every thirty minutes. A product that lasts five hours? That's a keeper.

The Year Of Depressing Superbowl Commercials

Anyone else affected by how tragic this years Super Bowl commercials were? By the end, we were all talking about how sad they were versus your typical upbeat funny ads. Not to say all the ads this year were like the Nationwide ad, but we were definitely seeing a common theme.

This was our family's favorite 2015 Super Bowl commercial this year.
I'm just so confused by all the media and attention being brought to this whole "Bruce Jenner Transition" thing...like WHAT?! He has 6 females in the house and not once in the series of the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" show would you ever believe he wanted to be a woman. He seemed way to mighty on the manhood train to want to transition to being a woman? Someone please explain how this makes sense...

Jimmy Fallon: Lip Syncing Battle, Hilarious!

These guys are hilarious, love them. How funny! Who do you think won the lip sync battle? They all did awesome. Kudos to Jimmy's guest appearance act.

My vote: Will Ferrell

Are You Getting Enough Sleep?

The National Sleep Foundation updated their daily recommendation for sleep. Are you getting the proper amount of sleep? Did you know that if you're not getting proper amounts of sleep, it can result in hunger consistently throughout the day, make you more emotional and susceptible to tear up, increased forgetfulness or lack of focus, 3x the risk of catching more colds if you sleep less than 7 hours, more clumsy than usual, and a low sex drive? I can speak on behalf of my personal experience that all these things are very true! Who knew that a lack of sleep could result in the loss of so much daily function. I tend to get between 4-5 hours a sleep, maybe 7 on a good day. If I don't get a lot of sleep, I can always plan on being sluggish and feeling like a Zombie all day. Thank God for coffee!

Patriots Win

What a close game! We're all wondering the same thing, WHY did Wilson throw the ball when Lynch was in the back?!! Malcolm Butler's goal line interception won the game for the Patriots in the last 20 seconds of the game, bringing the final score 28-24. Close call for both teams. What a hard loss to swallow for the Seahawks. If I was Marshawn Lynch, I'd be throwing more than skittles at their offensive coordinators face. After their come back win against the Packers in over time, I didn't really think they deserved their place in the Superbowl, but what are you going to do?!

(AP Photo/ Charlie Riedel)
Can we talk about this crazy play! Seahawks Jermaine Kearse goes up to catch the ball when he ends up in a juggling act before finally securing the catch, LUCKY!

Have y'all seen the graphic picture from when Jeremy Lane's breaks his arm in the first quarter. Poor guy, makes my stomach hurt! As the Patriots take home their 2015 Superbowl title, they'll be adding to their three other NFL championship titles including 2001, 2003, and 2004.
